This mural was inspired by my personal nostalgia for the sights and sounds of summer in Providence. Moving back to Providence post-grad and post-pandemic was the first full summer I spent in Rhode Island. That first summer was quiet, and the presence of groups of cyclists, skateboarders, and bikers were a welcome sign of life in the streets. I chose to pair these riders with another symbol of summer gathering, the fish lanterns that make their appearance in the canals during summer festivities in Providence.
